Aarti Dalsania achieves top grades in the country
Aarti Dalsania, 19, is currently a second year student at the University of Cambridge.

The youngest of three sisters she excelled academically at primary school and high school. Aarti attended Mill Hill County High School in Mill Hill where she achieved 10A* grades, and 1 A at GCSE (the A being in Gujarati!). She was awarded a prize for coming top 5 in the country for Religious Studies.

She stayed on at Mill Hill to complete her A-Levels where she studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, achieving 4 A grades. Not only did she achieve A grades she scored amongst the best in the country for all her subjects. The Royal Society of Chemistry awarded her with a prize for achieving the highest Chemistry A Level score in the country.

Aarti went on to study at the University of Cambridge where she currently reads Natural Science. Even amongst the top students in the country Aarti achieved a First Class in her first year. Aarti is planning on staying on at Cambridge to complete her Masters after which she is hoping to stay in the field of science.

We asked Aarti about her views on her career plans, Cambridge, future of the Samaj and youth involvement in the Samaj.
·         What would you like to do after you complete your degree/career?
I would like to carry on with a career in science, either continuing with studying at a higher level or working in research.
·         What do you think of studying at Cambridge?
Studying at Cambridge is a wonderful experience; the facilities, academic staff and resources are amongst the best in the world and although the course is extremely challenging at times, it is worth the effort. I would strongly encourage those who are in a position to apply to Oxbridge to do so- you never know until you try!
·         What is your opinion on the future of the samaj?
I think the samaj is a great way for people from a similar background to keep in touch with each other and hopefully will help maintain the integrity of our tradition and culture whilst aiding intergration with the wider community in the UK.
·         What is your view on youth involvement in the Samaj?
I think the Samaj should encourage and organise Youth events so young people can get to know each other. The Youth forum is a good way to put across everyone's views to the comittee so that they know what future generations would like from the Samaj and how to maintain the Samaj in the future. I also think it would be a good idea to help educate youngsters on what the Samaj is and what it means to older generations.
The Kadwar Patidar Samaj and all of Aarti’s family and friends would like to congratulate her on her academic achievements and wish her all the best for the future.
