KPS Youth identified future projects
“Excellent opportunity to put our points forward and feel like we are making a contribution to the samaj” was just one of many positive quotes received from a youth who attended the First KPS Youth Forum on 12th September. The turnout was excellent with 56 youths participating in this event.

This was an exciting opportunity for youths to meet other like minded people & share their thoughts & feelings about KPS going forward.

The sessions were broken down as follows :

1.       Individual activities where people asked questions about each other (Discover)

2.       An open forum discussion to highlight current concerns & discuss them on the table (Dream)

3.       Individuals brainstorming ideas of 2 activities per person to see what they would like to see for the future(Design), where this was summarised as below:
a.      Charitable work – led by Gemini Ardeshna
b.      Youth Conventions led by Anand Faldu
c.      Life Long Learning techniques led by Rajan Dalsania
d.      Professional/Business directory of network events led by Shivani Kantaria
e.      Well being & Sports Activities led by Biren Kalaria
f.       Community Building programmes led by Rahul Kadiwar

Some of the quotes received as part of the feeback on the Youth Forum below :

“I liked meeting new people on a smaller scale where we had no option but to interact with each other.”

“Excellant opportunity to put our points forward and feel like we are making a contribution to the samaj”

“Joining all the peices together in the end”

“I liked that it gave us the chance to find out about others in the samaj, those we wouldn't normally have the chance of getting to know. I also liked that the way it was organised meant that we all had a say and no-one was above another, and in that way everyones idea was heard and could be considered.”

One of the groups has oranised a Ten Pin Bowling event planned on Saturday 24th October 2009. We also have organised a follow up Youth Forum meeting on Saturday 15th November 2009.
